Yoga, Strength & Self Care Workshop - Chicago, June 18, 2019


Join us for an invigorating, educational, and inspirational Yoga, Strength and Self Care workshop on June 18, 2019 from 6:30pm - 8:30pm in Chicago! In this workshop, we’ll start with a self-inquiry guided meditation and reflection about physical self-care, and identify postural issues and common injuries we struggle with that directly impact how we feel both on and off the yoga mat. From there, we’ll focus on overcoming those issues. We’ll go over basic anatomy for postural awareness, and then dive into a funky yoga sequence to warm up. Then, we will discover variations of yoga and strength building movements we can do to build overall strength and stability with a focus on glutes, core and upper body strength. You can expect to leave feeling empowered with new tools for how to better train your body for optimal health, inspired with new ways for incorporating those tools into your practice, and rejuvenated with a more centered sense of self.

The workshop will be particularly helpful for:

  • yogis looking to build strength for an advanced asana practice

  • yoga teachers looking for inspiration and new tools they can take to their yoga classes. This workshop will grant yoga teachers registered with the Yoga Alliance two continuing education hours

  • people dealing with minor back or shoulder pain looking to build strength and stability to improve the quality of their life

Please bring:

  • yoga mat & block (if you have more than one, we would be so grateful if you’d bring it)

  • water bottle

  • a copy of Namaslay®, if you’d like Candace to sign it

  • a notebook for taking notes on all the things you learn
