Earlier this week I shared a video to prep the body for hanumanasana (split). Try that first before going in today's video (see below) because it's really important to be warmed up for this pose.
Some tips for split
- use the lower abs to lift yourself away from the mat as you slide the front leg forward
- always curl the back leg toes until you feel comfortable and stable in the position enough to bring the top of the foot flat on the mat
- spin the inner thigh of the back leg up toward the sky
- breathe full, deep breaths
