The other day, Evolution Fresh® reached out to me to partner for a campaign that "Takes a Sip in a brighter direction." Evolution Fresh®, in case you're not familiar with them, is a cold-pressed juice company that creates delicious juices. Other juices are often heat pasteurized which may affect the nutrients of the ingredients, which is why I opt for cold-pressed juices when I can. Evolution Fresh® does not add artificial colors or flavors - it's just juice. They're all about inspiring people to thrive through small sips that can make a big impact on their health and happiness, which is why this partnership was a no-brainer for me.
Now that the New Year is here, it's the time a lot of people start thinking about what they can do for self improvement. Now, while I am all for that, I find that many of the people in my life make resolutions from a place that sounds like what they are isn't enough. One of my friends said, "I've got to lose weight because I'm disgusting right now." Another said, "I'm terrible with money, so I need to figure out how to save more." Yikes, you guys! Have you ever heard of the line: it's not what you say but how you say it? That applies here.
I'd like to introduce the idea of approaching your resolution from a place of self-love, and gratitude for what you already do, are, and have.
Instead of telling ourselves, "I've got to lose weight because I'm disgusting right now," let's take a look at the self-talk, and see if we can reword it to say, "I'm going to make time in my life for exercise and make healthier food choices because I want to feel better physically and mentally." The goal is still the same (weight loss), but the narrative is from a place of love, encouragement and positivity. When we approach goals with a "yes I can" attitude, we may find that they are more attainable.
