A few weeks ago, Josa Tulum sent me this emerald green halter dress that was somehow both incredibly comfortable yet elegant. I was under the impression that the two could not simultaneously exist, but here I am, proven wrong.
I'm a huge fan of halter tops because I feel confident in them, so long as they have a solid amount of coverage. Here are a few other halter pieces I am eyeing this season:
On the final night in Florence, I stumbled upon a gorgeous garden courtyard area at my little boutique hotel and I threw on the dress, along with some simple heels for dinner. I've always loved a good maxi dress, and one of the reasons is because I feel like they really elongate shorter bodies. I'm only 5'1'', and to be honest, I'm really fine with it, but I'll never complain if an outfit makes me look a little taller.
Here are a few other maxi dresses I'm liking this season:
The back of the dress is simple...and to be honest, there was a part of me that felt a little insecure about how muscular my back is but I decided I just needed to get over it. I can't pick and choose when I want muscles. I've been working so hard over the last year in building upper body strength, and I am proud of the strength I've built, so why not be cool with it in a dress, too, you know? Anyway, just keeping it real with the internal dialogue I sometimes have going on where I catch myself criticizing myself and nip it in the bud before it gets me down.
I know this pic is a little blurry, but I sort of love the blur effect because you can really kind of see how beautifully this dress moves with you. For the top, I used bra cups from a sports bra and double sided tape to give just the perfect amount of coverage. Under garments are always a mystery to me for more revealing tops, so I'm still trying to figure it all out. There are so many options out there (see below*affiliate)! I've worn the second from the left stick-on bra thing in the past and it's worked well. I wish I could get away with nothing at all, but unfortunately, I can't.
I loved this picture because you can really see how heavy the fabric is and how well it falls no matter what position you're in. For the shoes, I chose a simple nude pair, and am also liking the ones below as well:
This is the last style post from Italy, boo hoo! It was such a magical trip, and I'm so glad I took some time for myself at the end for a little vacation (part 1 and part 2). I hope you guys enjoyed this and the other style post I created while there! And I'd love to hear your style thoughts on maxi dresses and weird undergarments down in the comments section below :)
