Santorini is such an amazing setting that we’ve not only decided to do the Namaslay® Yoga Teacher Training in April there, but also, I’m excited to announce, another yoga retreat in October 2019! In putting together this post, these photos bring back so many memories of such a beautiful, tranquil and inspiring place, and I’m so excited to share this beautiful island with another group of fantastic people. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up asap.
For this retreat, we’re headed back to Oia, an island you're probably familiar with from its Instagram-worthy scenery. It's a Cycladic island with white washed buildings surrounded by the vibrant blue Aegean Sea. I put together a yoga retreat this past summer in the hopes that people would be as excited to see Santorini as I was, and we had a fantastic group of women from all over the world sign up and come along for the ride.
The town of Oia is absolutely breathtaking. I have been all over the world, but Oia is honestly the most gorgeous place I've ever seen. As you can tell by the photos, the views Oia has to offer are so surreal. There are a number of excellent restaurants and little shops all along the one main street in Oia, which is only accessible by foot.
In your free time during the retreat, there are a number of ways to explore Oia and the surrounding seas - by ATV, by boat or by just relaxing and swimming in the Agean Sea. Last summer, we went all around the island, stopping here and there to swim and even took a boat cruise one day. The water is so salty - saltier than any other ocean I've been in, and so refreshing!
Ok, the real reason you’ll want to come join this retreat: the yoga. I created a comprehensive yoga program that includes an arm balance workshop, as well as power and vinyasa classes in the morning, and yin yoga in the afternoons for a total of 10 yoga classes/workshops.
The yoga practice will be in this cool tented platform, and we will have all the materials you will need including mats, blocks, and straps.
We’ll be back at Hotel Pelagos in Santorini, a small, privately owned boutique hotel. The sprawling property is comprised of a handful of rooms in the Cycladic cave-like style of white washed buildings with blue doors. There is a yoga deck covered by a thick tent to protect us from potential rain. There is a pool, although in October, it may likely be too chilly to swim. There is an outdoor patio area where we will gather for meals and the beautiful town of Oia is just a few minutes drive away.
Our accommodations are in one of those pitcturesque white washed buildings - each room is different and beautifully appointed with simple Grecian decor. I find them super comfortable and they each have a little patio just outside the door.
The bedrooms are simple, small and comfortable, complete with air conditioning. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Each room has a safe, hairdryer and a small fridge. Daily housekeeping service will be provided. Laundry service is available for a small charge.
